Blessing Day

You were blessed on November 1, 2009, and it was such a special day. Your dad gave you a beautiful blessing sent right from your Heavenly Father. You were so quiet and peaceful and just looked around the whole time. It was such an amazing rush of emotions for me. I felt so grateful to my Heavenly Father that he sent you to me, and so much joy seeing your dad holding you and hearing his voice as he blessed you. It was a great day and I will always hold it close to my heart.
Your grandma and grandpa Gerber were able to be there. They flew in Saturday night and left Sunday night. It was so nice of them to come, and be there for your special day.

Your dad and grandpa Gerber as well as some of your dads friends from medical school.

First Halloween

What a cute little dinosaur you were.

New Foods

A couple days ago we started trying out some new foods with you. For breakfast: some mashed up bananas mixed with your usual oatmeal. Hmmmmmm.....you weren't thrilled about it, but you tried it out and I think after a few more tries you will LOVE bananas! We shall see. Last night you tried some sweet potatoes, and you were oh so cute eating them. Your dad and I loved your big juicy lips (you can see for yourself how juicy they are in the pics!) Then this morning....pears, and tonight carrots. I think you enjoyed the carrots, but are still getting used to the fact that it's not oatmeal....which you love.
I love our mornings and nights together where I get to feed you and watch you learn and grow and try new things. You are growing bigger and bigger everyday, and your little personality is shining through more and more everyday. I love you so.

So funny....this is what you do while I try and feed you. You want to look at everything else around you...even what is directly behind you!

Some Of My Favorites

Here are some of my favorite pictures of you so far

Sick Little Boy

The past few days you have been battling a little cold. We went to the doctor yesterday because your breathing was sounding a little wheezy to me. The doctor sent me home with a breathing treatment that we do four times a day to help with your breathing. You don't particularly like it, but it sure helps relax your little lungs.

First Trip To Oregon

About three weeks after you were born you and I flew across country to Medford, Oregon. Your uncle Phil was coming home from his mission in Fortaleza, Brazil. It was so great to be there when he came off the plane. You were such a great flier....sleeping most of the way. I carried you in your little front carrier which you loved because you could just curl up on my chest and fall asleep. It was great! Everyone loved meeting you for the first time. You met your great Grandma Merrill, your great Aunt Marian and great Uncle Chip and their kids, and your great Aunt Karen and great Uncle Larry. You also met your Grandpa Merrill for the first time as well as your Uncle Grant and of course, Uncle Phil!

Your First Month

Well, the first month of your life flew by so fast! Your Grandma Merrill was here for a week after you were born. It was so nice having her here to help. We took a few walks to the ice cream shop down the street and some outings to target. Grandma loved just laying on the couch with you on her chest. (So did I, of course....and your Dad.)
You were very alert from the moment you were born, and had great neck muscles. You were always wanting to look around and see what was going on. On your one month birthday you rolled over from your stomach to your back! What a strong little guy!
Your first bath at home. You weren't too happy about it, but you learned to love them eventually!
